Heisenberg, now playing in The Rep's Studio Theatre through November 12, is a carefully crafted theatrical tango for two.
Even before their characters meet for a dance, ace actors Susan Louise O'Connor and Joneal Joplin engage in a duet of sparkling dialogue as they break down each other's defenses. The story of how the hyper-verbose Georgie (O'Connor) and the taciturn Alex (Joplin) meet and discover their shared passions is an utterly charming tale from playwright Simon Stephens – who you might remember from his work on our season-opening The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
