Join us for the annual Spring ITC Festival!
The Ugly Duckling soars to life in this heartwarming musical adventure from The Rep’s Imaginary Theatre Company. Perfect for children of all ages and the young at heart, this joyful tale follows one little duckling’s journey of self-discovery through a world that often misunderstands what is unfamiliar and new. Along the way, the duckling encounters creatures convinced their small corner of the world is the whole story—only to realize there’s so much more to learn when you open your mind and heart. Full of music, humor, and transformation, The Ugly Duckling is a celebration of curiosity, courage, and the idea that being different might just be your superpower.

About Relaxed Sensory Performances
-
Both performances with be a Relaxed Sensory Performance. The following adjustments and additions will be made so that folks with varying sensory preferences and needs feel supported in seeing an ITC performance at The Rep:
- House lights will remain at half-brightness throughout the performance to allow for easy movement throughout the theatre and a better balance between onstage lighting and audience lighting. Sound levels for certain moments in the show will also be adjusted.
- Audience members are encouraged to bring sensory-processing tools into the space. The Rep will have a limited number of tools available as well.
- Pacing lanes inside the theatre will allow for movement while still watching the performance. Quiet spaces directly outside the theatre doors will allow for quick breaks away from the performance.
Festival Details: Public ITC Performances at The Rep also include games, activities, and crafts in the lobby/outdoors between the performances (11:30-12:30). We want to acknowledge that this festival space can be overwhelming for those with sensory sensitivities. The team at The Rep will help support the transition from the theatre space into the lobby.
