The Marvelous Wonderettes

Written and created by Roger Bean |
Directed and choreographed by Melissa Rain Anderson

The pop doesn’t stop in this smash hit musical! A high school prom in 1958 and a 10-year reunion in 1968 provide the backdrop for some of the biggest hits of both decades, performed by an irrepressible quartet of young women. Featuring a stacked playlist that includes “Mr. Sandman,” “It’s in His Kiss,” “Respect,” “Son of a Preacher Man” and "Lollipop," it’s a joyous snapshot of a musical era.

Running time: 1 hour, 42 minutes, performed with one 15-minute intermission.

Age Recommendations

The Marvelous Wonderettes is recommended for general audiences. The show contains brief moments of innocuous bawdy humor and suggested infidelity. Though full of music and fun for families, the running time may be too long for the attention span of young children.

Open Captioning & Live Audio Description

The Rep offers Open Captioning seats in the Left Bay as well as Live Audio Description for the 2 p.m. January 28 performance of The Marvelous Wonderettes.

OPEN CAPTIONING DETAILS:

Hearing-impaired patrons can purchase those tickets here. Please note that Open Captioning Seats are only available in the Left Bay area.

At performances presented with Open Captioning, the dialogue spoken or sung by the actors on stage is also displayed in text on an electronic screen visible to one section of the seating area.

Much like Closed Captioning for television programs, Open Captioning presents the spoken or sung portions, as well as sound effects, of the performance in a format accessible to deaf audience members or to patrons who may have difficulty hearing clearly.

LIVE AUDIO DESCRIPTION DETAILS:

Patrons who wish to listen in to live audio description provided by MindsEye Radio can purchase tickets anywhere in the theatre.

The description begins with program notes and stage description 10 minutes prior to the performance. Visual moments of the performance will be described without interfering with the dialogue.

To reserve tickets and description devices, please call the Box Office at 314-968-4925.
