The Rep receives two 2020 St. Louis Theater Circle Awards

Wednesday | Apr. 8, 2020

The Rep is honored to have received a pair of 2020 St. Louis Theater Circle Awards recognizing the work that appeared on our stages last year.

Katie Kleiger, who played the brilliant and headstrong Elizabeth Bennet in December's Pride and Prejudice, won Outstanding Actress in a Comedy, while our March 2019 world premiere of Nonsense and Beauty won Outstanding New Play.

This was the second accolade that Nonsense and Beauty has received in the past week, following the announcement that it was one of six finalists for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg / American Theatre Critics Association 2020 New Play Award. We want to congratulate playwright Scott C. Sickles for this play's much-deserved acclaim! (Be sure to read our 2018 interview with Scott about Nonsense and Beauty's long, unconventional development process.)

The St. Louis theatre scene has truly thrived across the past several years, and 2019 featured an incredible array of amazing work at companies all over the region.
