ST. LOUIS (February 1, 2022) – The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) is pleased to present Stick Fly by Lydia R. Diamond. Preview performances begin Friday, February 11, officially opening Friday, February 18 and running through March 6, 2022 in the Catherine B. Berges Theatre at COCA.

The LeVay family’s annual summer vacation to Martha’s Vineyard is thrown into a state of disarray by long-standing tensions, sibling rivalries and a drunken game of Scrabble. This Outer Critics Circle Nominee for Outstanding New Broadway Play explores class, race and generational dynamics through the eyes of a modern African-American family.

“Our audiences are sure to be entertained by this fascinating family dramedy. Lydia Diamond is an exciting and powerful playwright with her finger on the pulse of our times” said Hana S. Sharif, Augustin Family Artistic Director at The Repertory Theatre of St.

Louis. “She bravely delves into the complexity, secrets, vulnerability and heart of our humanity. This is a production you will not want to miss!”

In an exciting collaboration, Ron Himes, founder and producing director of The Black Rep will play the role of family patriarch Joe LeVay. Other cast members include Ricardy Fabre as Kent (Spoon), Bobbi Johnson as Cheryl, Blair Lewin as Kimber, Deshawn Mitchell as Flip and Amber Williams as Taylor.

Chanel Bragg will direct the production with lighting designer Amina Alexander, assistant light designer Cat Cusack, associate sound designer Erica Feagin, costume designer April Hickman, sound designer/composer Twi McCallum and scenic designer Kyu Shin.
