Costume designer Dottie Marshall Englis is a treasure.
Yes, we're biased, but we like to think it's a more-or-less objective fact at this point. Across dozens of productions at The Rep – including several with our Imaginary Theatre Company – she's created countless unforgettable looks for audiences to savor.
So we're incredibly excited that local TV news program Show Me St. Louis has turned the spotlight directly on her. Dottie gave Show Me host Heidi Glaus a tour of The Rep's costume shop, highlighting her work on our upcoming production of Hamlet.
Along the way, Dottie talked about her vision for the show and the creative process behind her designs. The piece is also a tremendous showcase for the work of our incomparable costume shop team, who have brought her designs to vivid life.
