COMPENSATION/SALARY: $75,000 - $85,000

POSITION SUMMARY: Our Director of Learning and Community Engagement reports directly to the Artistic Director and will oversee all of the educational and community-based programming at the organization. Some primary functions of this role are to create and oversee educational programs in local schools (including but not limited to: any in-school residencies and the staffing of Teaching Artists), produce our TYA touring productions and any additional educational performances (including the Story2Stage festival), produce community centered events including RepresentSTL, Community Nights and The Glowy Snowy Day Drive-Through Experience, and creating and maintaining community partnerships. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing outreach and establishing strong relationships with school and community partners

Overseeing all educational programming in local schools and community centers

Serving as lead producer for family and youth programs and performances

Directing and producing the TYA plays for The Rep’s Imaginary Theatre Company

Acts as the Youth Director for The Rep’s annual production of A Christmas Carol

Produces and directs of the Story 2 Stage Festival

Produces accessible community centered-events including RepresentSTL programming,
Community Nights and The Glowy Snowy Day Drive-Through Experience

Providing leadership that advances EDI work in strategic planning

Developing and overseeing the implementation of community storytelling workshops and other artistic training programs

Providing vision and oversight for curriculum building

Recruitment, evaluation and supervision of all program instructors (teaching artists), partner coordination and class instructions

Ensures compliance with special grants by establishing systems of record keeping and communication both interdepartmentally and with school partners
- Creates, oversees and manages all Learning and Community Engagement budgets
QUALIFICATIONS:

Has a minimum of 3-5 years of educational or community-based work

Has experience with managing a staff

Has experience with budgeting and financial reporting, including grant writing

ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the ability to work seated and standing for several hours at a time. Some filing is required. The work environment is an air-conditioned, smoke-free, office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position may require local, day travel.
