The Story

Winner of the 1997 Tony Award for Best Play, this lovely comedy by the author of Driving Miss Daisy sparkles with warmth and romance. In December 1939, the Freitag family’s big worry is who will escort Sunny and Lala to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season in Atlantic. This family frenzy sparks a comic and endearing exploration of the tensions and stresses that lie beneath the surface in every family.
