Opportunities at The Rep

Docent

Summary: Volunteer docents give presentations to students who are scheduled to attend one of The Rep’s Mainstage student matinees, and also to community groups who are interested in learning more about a specific Mainstage production. The purpose of docent visits is to make theatre more accessible to our audiences by sharing information about themes, background and production elements. A great docent has a love of learning, enjoys meeting new people and has an interest in theatre.

Trained docents are required to work at least three of the six Rep Mainstage productions each season. Docent presentations occur primarily on school days between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. If you are interested in becoming a docent, please contact Sarah Brandt in the Education Department at (314) 968-7340 or sbrandt@repstl.org.
