Hamlet

October 11 - November 5, 2017

by William Shakespeare

For the first time in its 50-year history, The Rep will produce Hamlet. Spurred on to vengeance by the ghost of his father, Prince Hamlet hovers in limbo between bloody retribution and madness. Potentially fatal indecision delays his every step. With its profound soliloquies, complexly shaded characters and brutal plotting, it’s Shakespeare’s most enduring tragedy.

Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley

November 29 - December 24, 2017

by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon

In this winning and witty sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, the bookish middle child of the Bennet family nally has her day. Constantly overshadowed by her four sisters, Mary Bennet finds hope for a new life beyond her family from an unexpected holiday romance. Austen fans and first-timers alike will find much to love in this alluring comedic tale.

The Humans

February 7 - March 4, 2018

by Stephen Karam

Winner of four 2016 Tony Awards, including Best Play. Three generations of the Blake family have gathered in a dingy New York City apartment for Thanksgiving. Everyone’s trying to make the best of it, but life’s little indignities are piling up. With a mixture of pathos and dark humor, Karam’s vivid family portrait is nothing but honest.

Born Yesterday

March 14 - April 8, 2018

by Garson Kanin

Junkyard tycoon Harry Brock swaggers into Washington, D.C. as the ultimate political outsider, determined to buy a senator or two. The monkey wrench in his schemes is Billie Dawn, his seemingly dim-witted ex-showgirl girlfriend. But when Brock hires a reporter to tutor Billie, she rapidly comes into her own as a force to be reckoned with. This sharp and snappy comedy hilariously skewers Beltway corruption.
